Epoxy Coal Tar Black

EPOXY Anticorrosive Primer is recommended for use on steel structures, traction batteries, chemical plants, and MS tanks.

Physical Properties:

Application:

• Application Conditions: Ambient temperature shall be above 10⁰C and relative humidity shall be below 85%. Adequate ventilation shall be provided in confined spaces
• Mixing: Stir each component with mechanical stirrer before mixing
• Mixing ratio: Paint: 4 parts, Hardner: 1 part , Thinner : 1.5 parts (by volume)
• Application method: By air assisted spray gun / airless spray gun
• Pot Life: Minimum 6 hours at 30⁰C (Pot life may be reduced at higher temperature)
• Drying Time: Surface Dry - 20 to 30 minutes, Touch Dry - 4 to 5 hours
• Typical undercoat: Epoxy Primer
• Shelf Life: Base: 06 months; Hardner : 06 months from the date of mfg.

Surface Preparation :

• Surface to be coated should be completely clean, dry and free from contamination.
• Remove oil & grease with suitable solvent or detergent.
• Remove rust, mill scale and other loose material by wire mesh / abrasive blasting.

Performance Properties :

• Acid / Alkali Resistance - for 10% solution - 24 hours
• Salt Spray - passes 300 hours
